US Technology Sector Leader, Deloitte

Heather Rangel is the US Technology Sector Leader at Deloitte. She focuses on connecting and inspiring Deloitte’s clients and professionals towards impact in innovation and growth. Heather is passionate about technology’s disruptive effects on business models and supporting operations. She focuses much of her time exploring these edges.

Heather leads the global Deloitte account for a Fortune 500 technology company, where she drives strategic relationship management, addresses complex business challenges and nurtures positively disruptive ideas.

Heather is on the Board of Directors of a non-profit, Cancer Commons, an organization dedicated to uniting patients, oncologists, and scientists in creating a rapid learning platform for the delivery of precision personalized cancer care.

Heather is a frequent public speaker around topics related to women in leadership and digital disruption. She is a strong supporter of the arts, especially documentary filmmakers addressing the most important social and economic issues of our time. She participated in ALF Class XXXIII.

Former President & CEO, National Audubon Society

David Yarnold served as the CEO of the National Audubon Society from 2010 to 2021. Prior to Audubon, Yarnold served as Editor and Senior Vice President of the San Jose Mercury News and Executive Director of the Environmental Defense Action Fund.

David graduated from ALF Class XII and joined the ALF board in September 2018.

Managing Member, Strongpoint Holdings, LLC

David Babulak is the Managing Member of Strongpoint Holdings, LLC, an investment company focused on real estate, public markets and private companies.

Dave’s philanthropic efforts are focused on local organizations working to make Silicon Valley a better place for all. A longtime supporter of Second Harvest Food Bank, he served on the board for eight years and remains on the Finance Committee and Facilities Expansion Committee. He is also donor partner at SV2.

Dave served as an Engineer Officer in the United States Army and holds Engineering degrees from the University of Michigan and Stanford University.

Dave and his wife relocated to the Bay area from Chicago in 2009 and currently reside in Los Altos. Outside of work, Dave can be found in his basement gym or hiking in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

A member of ALF Class XLIII, Dave joined the board in 2024.

Owner, Miramar Farms

From the uniquely restorative setting of Miramar Farms, Jayne provides a combination of senior leadership coaching and skilled program facilitation for organizations working on environmental, health, housing, education and other critical societal issues. 

Jayne serves on the board of the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board and previously served on the boards of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, Youth Outside, and Cabrillo Education Foundation. In 2019, Jayne co-founded the Women’s Climate Network with the goal of building the leadership and network capacity of women working in climate change and adaptation.

Prior to starting Miramar Farms, Jayne held executive roles in three organizations—as Director of Land and Environmental Management at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, as Executive Director of Pacific Forest and Watershed Lands Stewardship Council, and as founder and President of Essex Environmental.

Jayne received her Masters of Science degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and her bachelor’s degree from Boston College. She is certified in the Everything DiSC® and Five Behaviors® leadership curriculum. Jayne is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum, Class XXIV.

Alternate Public Defender, County of Santa Clara

David received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 1980, received his JD from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1992 and joined the County of Santa Clara in 1994. David is an advocate for advancing social justice and equity in the criminal justice system. As an administrator, he worked collaboratively with the district attorney, law enforcement agencies, the courts, probation, county executive, board of supervisors, community-based organizations, and other justice system partners to find ways to improve efficiency, reduce disproportionality, and reduce recidivism with the goal of enhancing public safety and justice. David graduated with ALF Class XXIX.

Executive Editor, Bloomberg News

Tom Giles is the executive editor of the global technology team at Bloomberg News. He previously served as managing editor of U.S. company news and team leader for U.S. technology. Tom was also the editor of Businessweek.com’s Technology channel, based in Silicon Valley.

Before joining Businessweek.com in 2005, Giles was deputy technology team leader at Bloomberg News, where he spent more than eight years, with stints in New York, London and San Francisco. He holds a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University and a B.A. in politics from Princeton University.

Tom graduated with ALF Class XXXVII.

Managing Partner, Acorn Campus Ventures

Hsing co-founded SDL Inc in 1983 and Pine Photonics in 2000. In addition to his current role with Acorn Campus Ventures, he serves on the boards of several optoelectronics companies.

Previously Hsing served on the boards of Fremont Union High School and United Way Silicon Valley. He received a BSEE from National Cheng Kung University, a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Hsing graduated with ALF Class XIII.

Industry Luminary and Advisor, Aviso AI

Mica Eades Mayo stands out as a dynamic executive operations and finance powerhouse with a penchant for driving revenue growth and transformation and inspiring people with her storytelling superpower.

Mica has over two decades (of experience) in the hyper-innovation, high-tech sector with industry legends and darlings like Sun Microsystems, Oracle, Juniper Networks, and ServiceNow.

After earning her MBA in Finance from Cornell University, Mica returned to Silicon Valley to rise and shine amidst the dot com revolution of Sun. She then found her calling working alongside sales in the Go-To-Market function, accelerating time to revenue and expanding lifetime contract value.

Most recently, Mica steered the lead-to-cash digital transformation at ServiceNow, helping to fuel the rocket ship from $2B to $10B ARR in 5+ years. Mica currently serves as an industry luminary and an advisor to Aviso AI.

Mica is a member of ALF Class XLII.

Chief Legal and Business Officer, OneTrust

Kim served as HP Inc.’s President, Strategy and Business Management (2019-2020) and Chief Legal Officer (2015-2020). In this role, Kim led corporate strategy and development, sales strategy and operations, customer support, indirect procurement, real estate and workplace functions, and enterprise digital strategy and transformation. In addition, Kim managed the worldwide legal organization, including all aspects of legal and government affairs, brand security, compliance and ethics.

Prior to joining HP, Ms. Rivera served as the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary for DaVita HealthCare Partners, a Global Fortune 250 healthcare services company. Previously, Ms. Rivera was the Chief Compliance Officer and Head of International Legal Services at The Clorox Company, where she also oversaw labor and employment counseling and litigation. Before joining Clorox, Ms. Rivera served as Chief Litigation Counsel for Rockwell Automation as well as General Counsel for its Automation Controls and Information Group.

Passionate about giving back to the community, Ms. Rivera has served on numerous non-profit boards including the California Latino Community Foundation and the Denver Metro Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and she is a current member of the Leadership Council On Legal Diversity Board. She is a frequent speaker on diversity and inclusion in corporations and the legal profession, with emphasis on women in leadership.

Kim graduated from Duke University and Harvard Law School and was a member of ALF Class XXXIII.

Chief Executive Officer, American Leadership Forum Silicon Valley

Suzanne St. John-Crane joined American Leadership Forum in March of 2016, having been through both Classic Class XXV and the inaugural Urbanism Class XXXIV.

Suzanne has worked in community media for the last twenty-four years, having served as the founding executive director for two community television stations in the Bay Area including CreaTV San Jose.

St. John-Crane was named one of Silicon Valley’s 100 Women of Influence in 2012 by the Business Journal and currently serves as Board Chair of ALF National. She has served on the boards of Rotary San Jose, the Silicon Valley Organization, National Alliance for Community Media and is the Chair Emeritus for HomeFirst.

Suzanne oversees ALF’s vision, strategy, fundraising and foundational Fellows program.

Executive Director, BAYMEC Community Foundation / Professor, San Jose State University

Ken Yeager has had a long career in both policy-making and as a leader in the LGBTQ community. Ken received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from San Jose State University and his Ph.D. in Education from Stanford University.

In 1984 he co-founded BAYMEC, an LGBTQ+ political action committee in the Bay Area that is still active today. In 1992, he was elected to the San Jose/Evergreen Community College Board, becoming the first openly gay official in Santa Clara County. He subsequently won election to the San Jose City Council in 2000 and the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors in 2006.

A long-time lecturer at SJSU, he returned to teaching in 2019. That same year he became executive director of the non-profit arm of BAYMEC, the BAYMEC Community Foundation, where he created the LGBTQ+ website QueerSiliconValley.com, curated an LGBTQ+ museum exhibit, and produced the documentary film Queer Silicon Valley. 

Ken serves on the board of the Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST). Ken is a member of ALF Class VI.
