Join us as we hear from Ian Haney López about how dog-whistle politics contributes to our housing crisis, followed by a panel discussion featuring SCC Supervisor Cindy Chavez (Class XII), former Cupertino Mayor Savita Vaidhyanathan (Class XXXV), and Ramona Giwargis of San Jose Spotlight—moderated by Child Advocates of Silicon Valley CEO Frederick Ferrer (Class XI). Ian Haney López is the Chief Justice Earl Warren Professor of Public Law at the University of California, Berkeley. He has published four books and two anthologies, and has been a visiting professor at Yale, New York University, and Harvard. He lives in Richmond, California.
