An Inspirational Recognition at EL25

We’re just a few short weeks away from the SOLD OUT 2025 Exemplary Leadership Celebration on May 8, where we’ll recognize the impact and achievements of the 2025 John W. Gardner Award recipients Cindy Chavez and Mike Gaulke and the 2025 Greg Ranstrom Network Leadership Award recipient APALI.

All of us on the ALF team are looking forward to joining you for what is sure to be an incredible evening of networking, revelry, and recognition! And speaking of recognition, as we shared in early March, this year’s event will mark the conclusion of Suzanne St. John-Crane’s nine year tenure as CEO of ALF Silicon Valley.

Beginning in 2016, Suzanne led the organization through a significant body of work—including the formation of affinity groups, caucuses, a national dialogue series, and the building of a national online alumni community for 5,000 Senior Fellows across the country—meeting the moment during some of the most challenging times in recent history for many of our communities.

Expanding on the recent announcement, Suzanne said, “I have on many occasions pushed Fellows to examine whether they are living into their highest and best purpose and how they are integrating self-care and life balance into the equation. As I answered that question for myself, it became clear that my work and calling were shifting. And it was time for me to follow my own advice.

Suzanne is returning to the arts, joining the Friends of Levitt Pavilion team to build a state of the art performance facility in San Jose’s St. James Park.

We hope you’ll join us in thanking Suzanne for her contributions as CEO of ALF Silicon Valley! For those of you joining us on May 8, we can’t wait to share more about how you can join the effort to build on the momentum we’ve made under Suzanne’s leadership and ensure ALF is ready for the work ahead.
