CEO DIEL Affinity Group meeting w/ Packard Foundation

When:

Location: ALFSV Office

Over the course of the past year, ALF has been facilitating a group of 10 nonprofit leaders who wanted to engage more deeply on the concepts of diversity, inclusion, equity and liberation (DIEL) and to explore what those ideas mean personally, organizationally and for the nonprofit sector. With intention, the group spent time personally exploring white supremacy culture and the personal biases they hold. They examined how the culture of white supremacy impacts the work and structure of their organizations as well as how the sector functions as a whole. The group asked itself: “If the leaders in this sector took this on personally and organizationally, how would we know that there had been a shift in awareness and application?” Answer: An organization has answered for itself: what are we doing that perpetuates white supremacy culture and what can we do to dismantle racism? The second cohort will of this group will begin in December of 2018. Both of these groups are closed groups.
