EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP AWARD
Si Se Puede! Collective – a collective comprised of four community organizations, led by four women of color, all based in the Mayfair neighborhood of East San Jose: Amigos De Guadalupe Center for Justice and Empowerment, Grail Family Services, School of Arts and Culture at Mexican Heritage Plaza and SOMOS Mayfair. Together they are committed to uplifting community voices and providing much needed wraparound services and assistance to low income and immigrant families living in Mayfair.
JOHN W. GARDNER AWARDS
Patricia Gardner (Class XX) has led the Silicon Valley Council of Nonprofits (SVCN) since 2001. During her tenure SVCN has become one of the most respected voices locally and across the state with government, local foundations, and the nonprofit sector, currently representing over 200 agencies. Patricia is a master convener of leaders across sectors and cultural divides to address complex social issues such as ending homelessness, improving children’s health, bridging early childhood development, reducing the poverty divide and ensuring access to healthcare. Her dynamic leadership has coalesced nonprofits through difficult economic downturns and built their capacity to be stronger as service providers.
Carol S. Larson (Class XV) is President and CEO of the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, a position she has held since 2004. Carol, who joined the Foundation in 1989, has dedicated her career to addressing some of the most pressing public health challenges of our time and ensuring opportunities for collaboration and advancement of health for many communities. Her achievements in public health, conservation, and philanthropy have had profound impact in the Bay Area and beyond.
