EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP AWARD
- Rapid Response Network (RRN) and Solidarity Network – A significant collaboration of nonprofits, local government, faith communities, businesses, schools and individuals and families, involving many ALF Senior Fellows, the RRN and Soldarity Network protect immigrant families from deportation threats and provide support during and after a community member’s arrest or detention.
JOHN W. GARDNER AWARDS
- Hsing Kung (Class XIII) – Hsing received a PhD from Berkeley in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from Santa Clara University, worked for HP in the 1970s and founded several optical engineering companies after leaving HP. In the last 20 years, Hsing has devoted significant time to promoting civic engagement in the Chinese American community and has led by example with his service on the boards of 1st Act Silicon Valley, American Leadership Forum, California State University (appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger), United Way, Vision New America, among others.
- Webb McKinney (Class XV) – Webb retired from HP in 2003 after 34 years of service. Webb led HP’s merger integration and global citizenship efforts as well as HP’s organizational effectiveness and governance initiatives. Webb has served on the ALF board in addition to the boards of Resource Area for Teaching (RAFT) and Silicon Valley Education Foundation (SVEF).
