2020 was unquestionably a challenging year for many. As the struggle for racial and gender equality permeated the broader national consciousness, Covid-19 forced a seismic shift in our daily lives, tipping the scales against the most vulnerable in our communities.
While we continue to grapple with a return to “normalcy” well into 2021, the framework for a grassroots, collaborative response began taking shape back in March 2020 when a coalition of community partners came together to deliver critical assistance to those in need. Several Senior Fellows, Fellows, and members of the broader ALF network were central to those efforts, bringing their expertise and leadership in healthcare, housing, business, fundraising, and logistics to the collective response.
“Networks that are built upon real relationships allow for fast and effective problem-solving.” – Chris Wilder (Class XXI)
In this new mini-documentary, Why Networks Matter: A Community Response to Covid-19, produced by Destination:Home and ALF Silicon Valley, Senior Fellows Kyra Kazantzis (Class XXXVI), Chad Bojorquez (Class XXXIV), Poncho Guevara (Class XXIII), and Chris Wilder (Class XXI) speak to how the collaborations took shape and reflect on the overall value of a network response.
